Working with Luton Muslim Health Alliance to improve health equity and access to faith-sensitive services.

We manage our health advocacy through Luton Muslim Health Alliance (LuMHA). Hosted by the British Islamic Medical Association, the alliance brings healthcare professionals, mosques, community organisations and public services together to address health inequalities in Luton’s Muslim communities.
Its work includes listening to local experiences, health education and advocacy, and helping partners make services more accessible. Visit LuMHA for its current activities and opportunities to get involved.
Our healthcare engagement has included discussions with hospital and council services about family visits, end-of-life care and funeral arrangements, including during the Covid-19 period.
Past campaigns have also covered health awareness and community support for the hospital. Read the dated reports below for examples of that work.
For help with your own health or wellbeing, use our support pages for maintained health-service information. The records here describe community advocacy and participation.
