A shared responsibility.

Luton Mosques has worked with other faith communities through Faiths Against Child Sexual Exploitation (FACEs), including training and awareness activity.

Our historical work has also included safeguarding conversations with mosques and madrassahs. The accounts below describe past activity; individual institutions remain responsible for their safeguarding arrangements.

Community safety and young people.

In 2018, Luton Mosques supported a seminar at Madinah Masjid about knife crime, bringing community members, education and public services together. A follow-up report records workshops and related Friday sermons.

The 2019 Street Talk discussions also gave families and young people opportunities to share concerns and ideas. These historical events form part of our wider work to protect young people.
