As millions starved in the devastating famine which struck the Horn of Africa in July 2011, many generous members of the Luton donated as part of a local Friends of East Africa campaign. Luton Council of Mosques was actively involved in driving this campaign organising dinner and bucket collections across the town. Altogether, the fundraising effort raised a whopping £11,898.
