The Muslim community in Luton stand and mourn together with Egypt at the horrific and
senseless loss of lives, following the terrorist attack at the al-Rawdah Masjid in Bir-Al- Abed,
which killed and injured hundreds of innocent and defenceless worshippers as they stood in
prayer. The barbarity of these terrorists, inside a place where people gather to worship God
and share His message of love and peace is incomprehensible. Terrorism has shown, once
again, that it has no religion.
We extend our prayers, deepest sympathy and condolences to all those who are grieving for loved ones, and those injured and traumatised by this heinous and cowardly act of violence.
We remain firm in our commitment to oppose terrorism and the hateful and divisive
rhetoric which promotes it. We will continue to counter hate through our shared values of
peace, tolerance and inclusion.
