We are both saddened and angry to hear of the attack which took place yesterday a San Diego synagogue. Once again, we see the abhorrent act of targeting people whilst in worship, on a day which holds particular religious significance.
The Muslim community of Luton stand in solidarity and mourning with all those who have been affected by this senseless attack. We reject and work actively to dismantle the ideologies of hatred and bigotry which seek to divide our communities. The words of a member of the congregation of the San Diego synagogue exemplify our conviction here in Luton: “We are strong; you can’t break us”.
