The Community Dental Services attended Luton Central Mosque this week to raise awareness of oral health and mouth cancer in coordination with Luton Mosques and InspireFM. The campaign is about prevention and increasing early screening especially amongst high risk groups such as:
- tobacco users (in its different forms including shisha)
- people exposed to the sun such as those working outside
- middle-aged and older people with poor oral awareness
Using the screening mobile bus enabled easy access for those with mobility problems and they were joined by the Smoking Cessation team as well. The event was promoted and followed with Inspire FM radio broadcasts and live feeds.
