This September, Total Wellbeing Luton will be running mini-clinics at community venues and events across Luton to encourage everyone to get a health check. Health checks are 20-30 minute health checks carried out by a health professional to help people identify if they are at risk of developing heart problems, stroke, diabetes, dementia and kidney disease, and to help advise them about reducing their risk.

NHS Health checks are free for people between the ages of 40-74 years old who do not have pre-existing heart problems (Including high blood pressure and high cholesterol), stroke or diabetes. NHS health checks can be booked by people between the ages of 40-74 years old who do not have pre-existing diabetes, stroke or heart diseases at their GP practice or with Total Wellbeing Luton. Additionally, Total Wellbeing Luton will be running pop-up clinics in September at the following places:
 1pm-8pm Saturday 2 nd September and Sunday 3rd September, Wardown Park, Luton
 Luton Citizens Fund Showcase Event, Denbigh High School, 55 Alexandra Avenue, Luton, LU3 1HE – Wednesday 6th September 5:30pm-8pm.
 Luton Central Mosque, Bury Park, 2-12 Westbourne Road, Luton, LU4 8JD – Saturday 9th September 10am-4pm.
 Guru Nanak Gurdwara, 2A Dallow Road, Luton, LU1 1LY – Sunday 10 th September 9:30am – 4:30pm.
 Lea Manor Recreation Centre, Northwell Drive, Luton, LU3 3TL – Sunday 17 th September 9:30am – 4:30pm.
 Farley Hill Market Square, Luton, LU1 5RD – Saturday 23 rd September 10am – 4pm.
 Lewsey Community Centre, Landrace Road, Luton, LU4 0SW – Saturday 30 th September 10am – 2pm.

  • Harris Pharmacy, 165a/b Dunstable Road, Luton, LU1 1BW

The mini health checks are a fully automated test conducted on a SiSu TM health station which take about 10 minutes and measures blood pressure, height, weight, body fat and can signpost for lifestyle services aimed at reducing stress and stopping smoking.
