In March 2018 Azaan Kaleem was stabbed and sadly died. During the course of his stay at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital Azaan was administered with 27 blood transfusions to help keep him alive, although the Intensive Care Team fought to keep Azaan alive their efforts came to an end on the 24th March 2018.

The 27 blood transfusions allowed for the family of Azaan Kaleem to say goodbye. In appreciation and gratitude for the extra few moments they had, Azaan’s mum is encouraging as many people as possible to donate blood to the Luton Blood Donor Centre to save lives or give someone those precious few moments with their loved ones.

The Luton Blood Donor Centre is hosting a 30 year anniversary on this Friday 29th June 2018 and Azaan Kaleem and his story will be an advocate for this campaign. Azaan’s mum would be deeply grateful if you could encourage your colleagues and friends and share with your contacts to donate blood on Friday 29th June 2018. The Luton Blood Donor Centre is located next to the Luton Central Library in Luton (St Georges Square, Bridge St, Luton LU1 2NF).

You can also book online and register to donate here.

Azaan’s mum has also set up a justgiving page for Luton & Dunstable Hospital in recognition of the amazing care, support and effort made by the Hospital staff for Azaan and his family. Please feel free to make a small contribution at
