Rt Hon. Brandon Lewis MP
Chairman, Conservative Party
House of Commons
London, SW1A 0AA

Dear Rt Hon Mr Lewis,

We are writing to you on behalf of the members of Luton Council for Mosques and Luton Sunni Council of Mosques.

We write to express our support for the Muslim Council of Britain’s calls into an inquiry into Islamophobia in the Conservative Party.

The rise in Islamophobic incidents from those who claim to represent the Conservative Party over the past years is deeply worrying. It demonstrates a real problem that must be dealt with and shows that bigotry has still not escaped the halls of power in which elected representatives sit.

You should be taking this seriously although your lack of adequate response thus far is deeply worrying.

British Muslims across the country are increasingly concerned. As the Chairman of the Conservative Party, your action in launching an independent inquiry would go some way to alleviating this concern.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Mr Ishaq Qazi
General Secretary
Luton Council of Mosques

Mr Faisal Hussain
General Secretary
Luton Sunni Council of Mosques
